As the official journal of the nonprofit National Geographic Society, National Geographic magazine built its reputation delivering the highest-quality photojournalism and cartography in the world.
As generations of researchers and fans will attest, the iconic monthly publication provides unparalleled, in-depth coverage of cultures, nature, science, technology, and more — making it an essential resource for educators and students as well as general readers.
More recent issues of National Geographic can be accessed online via DiscoverEd.
Access is only available to current students and staff at University of Edinburgh.
You can access the full range of newspapers and magazines databases (both archive and current) via the Newspapers, magazines and other news sources guide.
Please note, trial access to a resource is an opportunity for our staff and students to try a resource out and give feedback on its quality and usefulness. However, if we trial a resource this is not an indication that we plan to or will be able to purchase or subscribe to the resource in the near future.
