International Journal of Performance Analysis in Sport – new subscription

The Library now subscribes to International Journal of Performance Analysis in Sport.

International Journal of Performance Analysis in Sport provides analysis of actual performance in sport and exercise. Studies using observational methods, biomechanical analysis, self-report emanating from actual sports performance, qualitative observation and measurements such as heart rate response during actual sports performance are all within the scope of the journal.  Laboratory studies of key techniques within sports are also of interest where such techniques are clearly important and cannot be analysed in detail during actual competition.  Such techniques include tennis serves and golf swings. There may be other contributions that do not analyse sports performance at all that are within the scope of the journal.  For example, interview studies or meta-analyses may lead to theoretical contributions explaining the nature of sports performance, tactics used and factors influencing performance.  Other topics covered include technologies such as design of analysis systems, sports equipment, research into training, and modelling and predicting performance.

Several publishers are taking advantage of vacation time to carry out maintenance work and platform updates.  The following affect our e-resources this weekend:

  • Cambridge Journals Online (CJO), Cambridge Books Online (CBO), Cambridge Histories Online (CHO) Cambridge Companions Online (CCO), Shakespeare Survey Online (SSO) and University Publishing Online (UPO), will be unavailable on Sunday 26th June 2016 for 4 hours between 09:00 AM BST and 13:00 BST due to essential maintenance.
  • Taylor & Francis.  On Friday June 24 – Saturday June 25 between 11:00pm and 3:00am (BST), Taylor & Francis have planned routine maintenance to their websites Taylor&Francis Online (Journals) and Taylor & Francis eBooks. Taylor&Francis Online will be unavailable during this time.

E-books_LOGODue to essential maintenance users will not be able to access Taylor & Francis e-books for a maximum of 1 hour between 23:00 – 02:00 hours BST on Friday 24th October.

Due to the fact that this maintenance is on the firewalls, which is the outermost layer of the system, users visiting the site during this time will receive a “connection timeout” or similar message within their browser.

The publisher has now cancelled this maintenance period.
