I’m pleased to let you know that after a successful trial earlier this year the Library has now subscribed to Africa-Wide Information from EBSCOhost. Bringing together 50 databases sourced from Africa, Europe and North America, Africa-Wide Information provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary information which documents research and publications by Africans and about Africa.
You can access Africa-Wide Information from the Databases A-Z list.
Africa-Wide Information covers almost 4 million news articles, scholarly publications articles, books, reports, theses, citations, and grey literature. Records include article abstracts but some full-text is also available. The database covers the 18th Century onwards, however, some material does date back to the 16th Century.
Africa-Wide Information is an essential resource for anyone who is teaching, studying or researching Africa or other subject areas in an African context.
You can access Africa-Wide Information from the usual Database pages on the Library website or via DiscoverEd.
Access is only available to current students and staff at University of Edinburgh.
