I’m pleased to let you know that following requests from students and staff the Library has recently subscribed to The Chicago Manual of Style Online.
Access is available via DiscoverEd or go direct to Chicago Manual of Style Online. Access is available both on and off-campus with your EASE username and password.
The Chicago Manual of Style Online offers the full contents of the 16th and 15th editions providing recommendations on editorial style and publishing practices for the digital age. The site is easy to search and browse and also gives you access to the Chicago Style Q&A, tools such as sample correspondence and proofreaders’ marks and a Quick Guide to citations.
The Library already has various print editions of the Chicago Manual of Style (which you can find via DiscoverEd) but the online edition will allow more of our students and staff to get access to this useful resource and provide the most up to date information.
Don’t use Chicago Style for referencing? The Library already subscribes to Cite Them Right Online which will help you to reference just about any source, and understand how to avoid plagiarism. Cite Them Right Online is particularly strong for Harvard Style but other citation and referencing styles are included e.g. APA, MLA, etc.
Access to Cite Them Right Online is available via DiscoverEd.
Access to The Chicago Manual of Style Online and Cite Them Right Online is only available to staff and students at University of Edinburgh.
