Read more below&#8230;.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/www.era.lib.ed.ac.uk\/bitstream\/handle\/1842\/18027\/09_01_1986_OCR.pdf?sequence=1&amp;isAllowed=y\">9 January 1986: Professors strike and students boycott<\/a><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Lecturers to go on strike as a result of under-funding of research and salaries.
