{"id":63,"date":"2021-04-30T10:19:28","date_gmt":"2021-04-30T09:19:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/sssa\/?p=63"},"modified":"2021-04-30T11:27:21","modified_gmt":"2021-04-30T10:27:21","slug":"tocher-is-50","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/sssa\/tocher-is-50\/","title":{"rendered":"Tocher is 50"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>In addition to celebrating our 70th anniversary, our publication <em>Tocher\u00a0<\/em>turns 50 too!<\/h2>\n<p>Named after the Scots word for dowry, <em>Tocher <\/em>was created in response to share fieldwork by the staff and researchers of The School of Scottish Studies (now the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/literatures-languages-cultures\/celtic-scottish-studies\">Department of Celtic &amp; Scottish Studies<\/a>).\u00a0 Material from the archive was transcribed using the interviewee&#8217;s own words; Gaelic was translated into English and regional dialects from the Scots language were also included.<\/p>\n<p>We look forward to sharing some of the articles collected on the tales, songs and traditions of the last 50 years of\u00a0<em>Tocher\u00a0<\/em>and the recordings too.
