Need help using or discovering Library resources? Need advice on referencing and citing? Not sure where to start with your systematic literature review? Or just want to know how to best use Google in an academic context?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\"Main<\/a>The Academic Support Librarian team are running several courses this semester through IS Skills<\/a> which you can book onto via\u00a0MyEd<\/a>. These (mostly) 1 hour sessions allow you to get expert advice and hands-on experience, so whether you are a returning to the University after the winter vacation or are a brand new student at the University why not book on and become an expert yourself?<\/p>\n

The following sessions are available (all are at Main Library unless otherwise noted):<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Finding Patents literature<\/td>\nTues 3 Feb, 1-2pm<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Finding historic newspapers<\/td>\nTues 10 Feb, 1-2pm<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Finding current news<\/td>\nTues 17 Feb, 1-2pm<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Library Resources Plus<\/td>\nTues 24 Feb, 1-2pm<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Finding theses<\/td>\nTues 3 March, 1-2pm<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Getting the best out of Google<\/td>\nTues 10 March, 1-2pm<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Managing the literature in a systematic review \u2013 social sciences<\/td>\nTues 17 March, 1-3pm<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

* The session on Thursday 12 February is at the\u00a0James Clerk Maxwell Building, Kings Buildings<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

You can also find information about other free courses you can book onto via this website so have a look at what is available to you.<\/p>\n
