The lecture is being delivered by feminist researcher and writer <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cynthiacockburn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cynthia Cockburn<\/a> and is titled <em><strong>Male violence against women: links between peace and war.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amnesty.org\/en\/womens-rights\/16-days\" target=\"_blank\">16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence<\/a><\/strong> is an international campaign that started on 25 November, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/events\/endviolenceday\/\" target=\"_blank\">International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women<\/a> and ends on 10 December, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/events\/humanrightsday\/\" target=\"_blank\">Human Rights Day<\/a>. The campaign hopes to raise awareness about gender-based violence as a human rights issue at the local, national, regional and international level.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->We\u2019ve pulled together a list of resources, primarily available at the University Library, to help you read around or find out more about these important issues. This database, subscribed to by the University Library,\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000000\">\u00a0covers essential areas related to peace research, including conflict resolution, international affairs and peace psychology, this index contains more than 267,000 records which are carefully selected from the most important sources within the discipline, such as: <em>Journal of Peace Research, Journal of Conflict Resolution<\/em> and <em>International Journal of Refugee Law.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Use<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/searcher.is.ed.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\">Searcher<\/a><\/strong> to look for more articles and papers.
