The Library currently has trial access to the full range of digital collections for ProQuest Congressional<\/strong>.\u00a0In addition to our existing Congressional Record<\/strong> access this provides access to the ‘Congressional Research Digital Collection’, or CRDC a collection of research materials \u2013 CRS Reports and Committee Prints – created for Congress. It also gives access to the ‘Congressional Hearings Digital Collection’, a collection of published and unpublished hearings held by Congress.<\/p>\n

You can access the database via the E-resources trials page<\/a><\/strong>.
\nAccess is available both on and off-campus.<\/p>\n

Trial access ends on 1st April 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ProQuest Congressional<\/strong> offers a comprehensive collection of congressional documents from 1789 to the present. This primary source collection offers you the opportunity to understand the present by comparing today\u2019s events and opinions with trends and patterns throughout the history of the United States. Congressional hearings offer a unique perspective on all aspects of US social, economic, and political history by presenting differing views from representatives of all societal sectors, including business, industry, labor, education, health, criminal justice, and government.<\/p>\n

<\/a>House and Senate publications document the transformation of the U.S. from 13 colonies into a world power, with primary source content on subjects ranging from war and military incursions to nuclear energy, space exploration, terrorism, and human rights. When examined in conjunction with ProQuest<\/em> news and archival sources*, congressional content can facilitate the ability of even novice researchers to develop critical thinking skills necessary for full participation as citizens and workers in a secure and competitive society of the future.<\/p>\n

The database can be accessed for the duration of the trial period via e-resources trials<\/a><\/strong>.
