However, September 21 is the U.N. International Day of Peace<\/a>, which\u00a0seemed like a good day to highlight the resources available\u00a0in\u00a0Edinburgh University Library\u00a0for peace and conflict resolution. <\/p>\n

The Library Subject Guide for International Relations<\/a> contains links to digital resources for the study of international conflict and its resolution. In particular, the University \u00a0of Edinburgh subscribes to Peace Research Abstracts.<\/p>\n

\"PPeace<\/a><\/p>\n

Covering essential areas related to peace research, including conflict resolution, international affairs and peace psychology, this index contains more than 267,000 records which are carefully selected from the most important sources within the discipline, such as: Journal of Peace Research, Journal of Conflict Resolution and International Journal of Refugee Law.<\/p>\n

Also available digitally is the Oxford International Encyclopedia of Peace<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This\u00a0encyclopedia charts the interdisciplinary field of peace studies from ancient times to the present day, aiming to offer a comprehensive survey of the full range of historical, political, theoretical and philosophical issues relating to peace and conflict. All major figures are covered, as well as major events, organizations, theories, and much more.<\/p>\n

Much material relating to international peace efforts produced by official bodies such as the United Nations<\/a> and UNESCO <\/a>is freely available online. For historic printed materials, the National Library of Scotland,<\/a> which has the largest collection of official publications in Scotland,\u00a0acts as an official repository for the United Nations.<\/p>\n
