here<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The survey was undertaken by the Social Environment Research Unit which was established specifically for the project.\u00a0 The SERU had Geoffrey Hutton as Director and an inter-disciplinary team of psychologists, sociologists and anthropologists.\u00a0 The survey was funded by the Joseph Rowntree Memorial Trust and aimed to investigate the characteristics of the communities of the new housing estates in North Edinburgh.<\/p>\n<p>The surviving records of the survey include 180 questionnaires relating to housing and approximately 400 summaries of in-depth interviews with residents and city officials.<\/p>\n<p>An online exhibition on the housing survey in the form of a prezi presentation is available to view from the menu.<\/p>\n<p><img
