{"id":2596,"date":"2016-09-15T10:00:20","date_gmt":"2016-09-15T10:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/newcollegelibrarian\/?p=2596"},"modified":"2016-09-14T14:01:02","modified_gmt":"2016-09-14T14:01:02","slug":"open-access-journals-for-religious-studies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/newcollegelibrarian\/2016\/09\/15\/open-access-journals-for-religious-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Access Journals for Religious Studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve recently added some new open access journals for Religious Studies to <a href=\"http:\/\/discovered.ed.ac.uk\">DiscoverEd<\/a>, aiming to make what&#8217;s freely available online as discoverable as possible for University of Edinburgh students.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2598\" src=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/newcollegelibrarian\/files\/2016\/09\/SouthAsianist.jpg\" alt=\"SouthAsianist\" width=\"300\" height=\"424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/newcollegelibrarian\/files\/2016\/09\/SouthAsianist.jpg 300w, https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/newcollegelibrarian\/files\/2016\/09\/SouthAsianist-212x300.jpg 212w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>These include the <em>South Asianist,<\/em> which is produced by the University of Edinburgh, to inspire critical debate on social, environmental, linguistic, religious, political and economic issues in South Asia. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>New College Library holds print back issues of The <em>Freethinker : the voice of atheism since 1881<\/em>, and we have now linked to the freely available online version which has an archive going back to 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The <em> International Journal of Jaina Studies<\/em> has joined DiscoverEd, as has <em>Mythological Studies Journal<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2597\" src=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/newcollegelibrarian\/files\/2016\/09\/mythological-studies.jpg\" alt=\"Mythological Studies\" width=\"230\" height=\"57\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And finally, (although\u00a0not for Religious Studies) we&#8217;ve\u00a0added the <em>Calvin Courier.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Christine Love-Rodgers, Academic Support Librarian &#8211; Divinity<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;ve recently added some new open access journals for Religious Studies to DiscoverEd, aiming to make what&#8217;s freely available online as discoverable as possible for University of Edinburgh students.
