The Library has arranged a free trial, until 31st October 2017, of several important full-text Chinese resources from the Superstar company (\u8d85\u661f\u516c\u53f8) which is provider of our currently subscribed databases Duxiu and Chinamass, both of which are in the Databases A-Z list. These resources range from Chinese classics, pre-1949 periodicals and books, to local gazetteers and academic journals since 1949. They are accessible on three different platforms:<\/p>\n

  1. Special collections (\u4e13\u9898\u56fe\u4e66\u9986 and \u8d85\u661f\u4e13\u9898\u5e93). These two large sets of resources can be accessed on the Chinamaxx platform. . It contains a vast amount of Chinese classics and books on special subjects. Superstar historical documents (\u8d85\u661f\u6587\u53f2\u8d44\u6599) is under a separate section and may be of special interest for regional studies. The following resources are available:

  2. Superstar journals (\u8d85\u661f\u671f\u520a) \u00a0which can be accessed on the Duxiu database platform. This resource contains over 6,500 full text post-1949 Chinese journals. Please also remember that we are subscribing to two Chinese journals already: China Academic Journals<\/strong>, and China Online Journals<\/strong>, both of which are in the Database list.<\/li>\n
  3. Dacheng gu zhi dui (\u5927\u6210\u6545\u7eb8\u5806). This is a huge database containing several series: \u8001\u65e7\u520a(pre-1949, 7491 periodicals)\uff0c\u6c11\u56fd\u56fe\u4e66(39,950 books published before 1949)\uff0c\u300a\u7533\u62a5\u300b(1872-1942)\uff0c\u53e4\u65b9\u5fd7\u96c6(3566) \uff0c\u515a\u53f2(208 Communist Party publications before 1949)\uff0c \u300a\u987a\u5929\u65f6\u62a5\u300b(1907-1930)\uff0c\u300a\u5927\u7f8e\u665a\u62a5\u300b(1943-1946).This database is to be accessed from: www.dachengdata.com<\/a> on the University network.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
