We took our seats in the Beehive Inn not quite sure what to expect.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/librarykew\/files\/2016\/06\/Beehive-Inn-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Beehive Inn\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-112\" srcset=\"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/librarykew\/files\/2016\/06\/Beehive-Inn-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/librarykew\/files\/2016\/06\/Beehive-Inn-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/librarykew\/files\/2016\/06\/Beehive-Inn.jpg 478w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tour takes you on an amusing literary journey to a handful of Edinburgh\u2019s better informed pubs. Our hosts were Clart and McBrain who question the importance of the pub in influencing the writing of some of Scotland\u2019s great literary figures. They also taught us a thing or two about Edinburgh\u2019s literary past along the way \u2013 although we may have proved a tough audience in this regard.  An entertaining evening was had and we even managed to squeeze in some outreach work.
