{"id":600,"date":"2017-01-18T15:55:40","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T15:55:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/?p=600"},"modified":"2023-09-27T08:45:10","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T08:45:10","slug":"trial-access-the-naacp-papers-collection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/2017\/01\/18\/trial-access-the-naacp-papers-collection\/","title":{"rendered":"Trial access: The NAACP Papers Collection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>*The Library now has access to the NAACP Papers Collections until 31st July 2024 as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/2020\/06\/24\/proquest-access-350-600-years-of-world-history\/\">ProQuest Access 350<\/a>.*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to a request from a student in History, the Library currently has trial access to <strong>The NAACP Papers Collections 1-6<\/strong>, part of <em>ProQuest<\/em> <em>History Vault. <\/em>These collections are the digitised archives of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.naacp.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NAACP<\/a>). The archive covers the period 1909-1972.<\/p>\n<p>You can access the database via the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/library-museum-gallery\/finding-resources\/library-databases\/e-resources-trials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>E-resources trials<\/strong><\/a> page. Access is available both on and off-campus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Trial access ends 15th February 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-608\" src=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/files\/2017\/01\/NAACP_papers.jpg\" alt=\"IF\" width=\"808\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/files\/2017\/01\/NAACP_papers.jpg 808w, https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/files\/2017\/01\/NAACP_papers-300x67.jpg 300w, https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/files\/2017\/01\/NAACP_papers-500x112.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 808px) 100vw, 808px\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>The NAACP Papers Collection<\/strong> contains nearly 2 million pages of internal memos, legal briefings and direct action summaries from the most widely used collection in the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress.
