*The Library now has access to the NAACP Papers Collections until 31st July 2024 as part of ProQuest Access 350<\/a>.*<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thanks to a request from a student in History, the Library currently has trial access to The NAACP Papers Collections 1-6<\/strong>, part of ProQuest<\/em> History Vault. <\/em>These collections are the digitised archives of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP<\/a>). The archive covers the period 1909-1972.<\/p>\n

You can access the database via the E-resources trials<\/strong><\/a> page. Access is available both on and off-campus.<\/p>\n

Trial access ends 15th February 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The NAACP Papers Collection<\/strong> contains nearly 2 million pages of internal memos, legal briefings and direct action summaries from the most widely used collection in the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress. With a timeline that runs from 1909 to 1972, users can examine the realities of segregation in the early 20th century to the triumphs of the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and beyond.<\/p>\n
