We also have access to all British Periodicals collections until 31st July 2024 as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/2020\/06\/24\/proquest-access-350-600-years-of-world-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ProQuest Access 350<\/a>.*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Library currently has trial access to 3 magazine and periodical archives, <strong>British Periodicals III and IV<\/strong>, <strong>News, Policy &amp; Politics Magazine Archive<\/strong> and <strong>Women&#8217;s Magazine Archive I and II<\/strong>. These give access to a wide range of full-text magazines from around the early 20th century onwards including <em>The Tatler<\/em>, <em>The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News<\/em>, <em>Chatelaine<\/em>, <em>Newsweek<\/em>, <em>The Sketch<\/em>, <em>Good Housekeeping<\/em>, <em>Seventeen<\/em> and <em>Cosmopolitan<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>You can access all of these online resources via the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/library-museum-gallery\/finding-resources\/library-databases\/e-resources-trials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">E-resources trials page<\/a><\/strong>. The magazines are all scanned from cover to cover in high-resolution color, ensuring that the original print artefacts are faithfully reproduced and that valuable non-article items, such as advertisements, are included. Titles include <em>Chatelaine<\/em> (1940-2005), <em>Cosmopolitan<\/em> (1965-1989), <em>Essence<\/em> (1970-1977), <em>Good Housekeeping<\/em> (1886-1932), <em>Ladies\u2019 Home Journal<\/em> (1887-1954), <em>Redbook<\/em> (1903-2002) and <em>Seventeen*<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h1>News, Policy &amp; Politics Magazine Archive<\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-448\" src=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/hcalibrarian\/files\/2016\/11\/News_policy_politics_magazine_archive-300x175.png\" alt=\"news_policy_politics_magazine_archive\" width=\"193\" height=\"125\" \/>Offering full runs of 20th-century titles, in full-color, page-image format, <strong>News, Policy and Politics Magazine Archive<\/strong> makes newly available and accessible these key sources, for which the archival print issues have not consistently been retained by libraries. Titles include <em>Americas<\/em> (1949-2012), <em>Europe<\/em> (1954-2002), <em>NATO Review<\/em> (1953-2001), <em>New Internationalist<\/em> (1973-2013), <em>Newsweek<\/em> (1933-2012) and <em>UN Chronicle<\/em> (1964-2012).<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>*The Library has now purchased access to the News, Policy &amp; Politics Magazine Archive. They provide archival coverage of several of the leading magazines of the period, including titles from the prestigious stable of illustrated periodicals known as the \u201cGreat Eight\u201d in the British publishing history. They are considered to be among the foremost popular periodicals of the period and were highly influential in their mix of news\/politics, art, photography, literature and comedy\/satire. Titles include <em>Bystander<\/em> (1903-1940), <em>The Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News<\/em> (1874-1970), <em>The Sketch<\/em> (1893-1959) and <em>The Tatler<\/em> (1901-1967).<\/p>\n<p>Access via<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/library-museum-gallery\/finding-resources\/library-databases\/e-resources-trials\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">e-resources trials<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\n<em>Access available until 30th November 2016.<br \/>\n**Trial has now been extended until 31st December 2016**<\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/library-museum-gallery\/finding-resources\/library-databases\/e-resources-trial-feedback-form\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Feedback welcome<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Library already subscribes to a variety of online resources that provide you with access to periodicals and magazines from different time periods, including <strong>American Periodicals<\/strong>, <strong>British Periodicals I and II<\/strong>, <strong>Country Life<\/strong> <strong>Archive<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Harper Bazaar\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>Archive<\/strong>, <strong>Nineteenth Century UK Periodicals<\/strong> and <strong>Vogue<\/strong> <strong>Archive<\/strong>.
