Thanks to a request from staff in HCA the Library currently has trial access to Australian Newspapers (1831-2000)<\/strong> part of ProQuest’s Historical Newspapers series, which covers two of the most influential Australian newspapers: The Age<\/em> and Sydney Morning Herald<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Providing nearly 170 years of coverage, Australian Newspapers<\/strong> includes the two leading Australian newspapers: The Age<\/em> (1854\u20132000) and the Sydney Morning Herald<\/em> (1831\u20132000).<\/p>\n

The Age<\/em> is known for its investigative reporting and along with its journalists, has won dozens of Australia\u2019s most prestigious journalism prizes, including the Walkley Award. Since 1854, The Age<\/em> has reported on the latest local news on Melbourne, Victoria and news from across the world.<\/p>\n

Sydney Morning Herald<\/em> is the oldest continuously published and most widely-read newspaper in Australia. Founded in 1831, the Sydney Morning Herald<\/em> has been providing readers with significant news from Sydney, Australia and the world.<\/p>\n

Both newspapers are considered two of the most influential Australian newspapers and have been labeled Australia\u2019s newspapers of record. With these newspapers, gain insight into politics, business, culture, sports, and more throughout Australian history<\/p>\n
