Thanks to a request from a HCA student the Library currently has trial access to two extensive newspaper databases from Gale, The Telegraph Historical Archive, 1855-2016<\/strong> and Financial Times Historical Archive 1888-2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Telegraph Historical Archive, 1855-2016<\/h2>\n

The Telegraph Historical Archive <\/strong>is the fully searchable digital archive of what was once the world’s largest-selling newspaper. Researchers and students can full-text search across 1 million pages of the newspaper’s backfile from its first issue to the end of 2016, including issues of the Sunday Telegraph from 1961.<\/p>\n

Financial Times Historical Archive 1888-2016<\/h2>\n

A complete online, fully searchable facsimile, the Financial Times Historical Archive<\/strong> delivers the complete run of the London edition of this internationally known daily paper, from its first issue through 2016. Every article, advertisement, and market listing is included — shown both individually and in the context of the full page and issue of the day. Each item has been subject- or topic-categorized for fast retrieval and review.<\/p>\n

You can access these databases via E-resources trials<\/strong><\/a>.

Access is only available to current students and staff at University of Edinburgh.
\nYou can access the full range of newspaper databases (archives and current content) that the Library already has at the Newspapers, magazines and other news sources guide<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
