{"id":2,"date":"2013-06-03T09:37:04","date_gmt":"2013-06-03T09:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/godfreythomsonproject\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2014-06-02T18:16:17","modified_gmt":"2014-06-02T18:16:17","slug":"sample-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/godfreythomsonproject\/sample-page\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8216;Documenting the Understanding of Human Intelligence: cataloguing the papers of Professor Sir Godfrey Thomson (1881-1955)\u2019 was generously funded by the <a title=\"Wellcome Trust\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wellcome.ac.uk\/Funding\/Medical-humanities\/Funding-schemes\/index.htm\">Wellcome Trust&#8217;s Research Resources in Medical History Grants Scheme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/godfreythomsonproject\/files\/2013\/06\/Capture.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-25 aligncenter\" alt=\"Capture\" src=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/godfreythomsonproject\/files\/2013\/06\/Capture-211x300.png\" width=\"211\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/godfreythomsonproject\/files\/2013\/06\/Capture-211x300.png 211w, https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/godfreythomsonproject\/files\/2013\/06\/Capture.png 423w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 211px) 100vw, 211px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The project ran from May 2013- May 2014, with the key aims of cataloguing and conserving Thomson&#8217;s papers. \u00a0Project Archivist Emma Anthony catalogued the records of Sir Godfrey Thomson, as well as several related collections, with the help and technical knowledge of Researcher, Caroline Brett. \u00a0The resulting catalogues are now available <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archives.lib.ed.ac.uk\/ght\/\">online<\/a>. \u00a0We also held a seminar exploring Thomson&#8217;s life and work, with speakers from several disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>The next phase of the project will involve digitising Thomson&#8217;s papers. \u00a0This will largely be undertaken by our digital imaging intern, and our archives intern, Neasa Roughan. \u00a0Neasa will also catalogue the papers of Thomson&#8217;s friend and colleague, A C Aitken.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8216;Documenting the Understanding of Human Intelligence: cataloguing the papers of Professor Sir Godfrey Thomson (1881-1955)\u2019 was generously funded by the Wellcome Trust&#8217;s Research Resources in Medical History Grants Scheme.
