The rolls, which amount in total to over four million words, were first edited in the eighteenth century and published in 1783 in six folio volumes entitled Rotuli Parliamentorum ( RP ) under the general editorship of the Reverend John Strachey.<\/p>\n<p>This database can be access via our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/library-museum-gallery\/finding-resources\/library-databases\/databases-a-z\/databases-p\" target=\"_blank\">Databases A-Z list<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/library-museum-gallery\/finding-resources\/library-databases\/databases-subject-a-z\/database-history\" target=\"_blank\">History A-Z list<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/discovered.ed.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">DiscoverEd<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following a successful trial earlier this year, we have now purchased the Parliament Rolls of Medieval England database.
