We are holding our second DATA-X workshop on Wednesday 15 June at the
\nJames Clerk Maxwell Building, Room 3217 and are inviting PhD students
\nand technologists to come along and participate in what we hope will
\nbe lively discussion and activities.<\/p>\n
We aim to engender Art and Science collaborations by offering
\nmicro-funds towards each ‘installation’ as well as the opportunity to
\npublish in the exhibition catalogue and present at the Pioneering
\nResearch Data Symposium later in the year.<\/p>\n
We have over 20 registered participants with a range of research
\ninterests including:
\nCrystal structure, Raman spectroscopy, Structural biology,
\nMeasurement-Based Power Systems Control, Astrophysics, Polymer-sensors,
\nBiological data mining, Computational Mechanics,
\nInternationalization of Higher Education, Bioinformatics, Evolution,
\nGenomics, Visual sociology, Advertising, National identity, Environment,
\nAgriculture, Nutrient Management, Soil, Pollen, Farmers, Social Network
\nAnalysis, Food security, Systems biology, Cell level
\nmodelling, Cell physiology, Mobile User Experience, Enviromental
\nSustainability, Political science, Human rights, Data materialisation,
\nDigital fabrication, Practice based research, Synthetic
\nbiology!<\/p>\n
