{"id":239,"date":"2013-02-12T09:45:37","date_gmt":"2013-02-12T09:45:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/benefitsofsharing\/?p=239"},"modified":"2013-02-12T09:46:43","modified_gmt":"2013-02-12T09:46:43","slug":"tbos-shared-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/benefitsofsharing\/2013\/02\/tbos-shared-services\/","title":{"rendered":"TBOS, Shared Services and the College Development Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Benefits of Sharing (TBOS) project was invited to give some background on findings to a meeting of FE college library professionals at their <a href=\"http:\/\/events.collegedevelopmentnetwork.ac.uk\/events\/show\/4617\">meeting on Shared Services<\/a> at the College Development network on 5<sup>th<\/sup> Feb 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting provided a forum for discussion around a number of sharing initiatives. Papers included support for mergers and partnerships between colleges, services offered to students from the National Library of Scotland and an update on the <a title=\"Rowan Partnership\" href=\"http:\/\/libraryblogs.is.ed.ac.uk\/benefitsofsharing\/users\/consortialandscape\/rowan-partnership\/\">Rowan partnership<\/a>, a project delivering a shared LMS among three institutions in Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>There was also much discussion around the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.resourceshare.ac.uk\/\">Re:Source<\/a> service which facilitates the sharing and reuse of learning and teaching materials and on the concept of open educational resources.<\/p>\n<p>Scotland\u2019s colleges are experiencing significant change and there is considerable interest in sharing initiatives within Scotland\u2019s further and higher education sectors.
