you need to use to find items or reading material in our libraries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/discovered.ed.ac.uk\/discovery\/search?vid=44UOE_INST:44UOE_VU2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>DiscoverEd<\/strong><\/a> is searching both our online resources and our physical or print resources e.g. books and e-books, journals, e-journals and e-journal articles, databases, films, musical scores, etc.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s always worth remembering or getting into the habit of signing in to DiscoverEd when you are using it (you sign in with your University login), as this ensures that no matter where you are working you will see a full set of search results, request options will be active, you can save items or searches, and you can access My Account.<br \/>\n<a name=\"libraries\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>2) Remember there are 10 libraries at the University of Edinburgh that you have access to (with your student card).<\/h1>\n<div can be easy to get stuck in a rut and keep using the same library for study space but it&#8217;s good to explore all the other libraries, as you might find one that you prefer. All 10 libraries have unique collections and features, and each has its own distinctive atmosphere. So why not take the time to explore?<\/p>\n<p>Have a look at<a href=\"https:\/\/library.ed.ac.uk\/using-library\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong> Using our Library<\/strong><\/a> which has information about the locations and opening hours of the 10 libraries. There&#8217;s useful <a href=\"https:\/\/library.ed.ac.uk\/using-library\/lib-locate\/library-orientation-guides\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>orientation guides<\/strong><\/a> that you can look at to familiaries yourself with the libraries. And there&#8217;s also a <a href=\"https:\/\/media.ed.ac.uk\/media\/Main+Library+tour\/1_1zo5u723\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>student-led tour of the Main Library<\/strong> <\/a>you can watch.<\/p>\n<p>And don&#8217;t forget, there are study spaces outwith our libraries as well e.g. the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/students\/study-hub-40-george-square\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Study Hub<\/strong> <strong>at 40 George Square<\/strong><\/a> which offers 388 study spaces for individuals or groups, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/science-engineering.ed.ac.uk\/nucleus-building\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Nucleus at King&#8217;s Buildings<\/strong><\/a> which offers 400 study spaces for individuals or groups. Find out more about study space across the University on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.ac.uk\/information-services\/students\/study-space\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Study Space website<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\n<a name=\"help\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h1>3) The Library is here to help!<\/h1>\n<p>The University Library is big, with vast collections, and even for seasoned students and researchers it can be a bit overwheming at times. For some students it may even lead to <a href=\"https:\/\/daily.jstor.org\/do-you-suffer-from-library-anxiety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">library anxiety<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s ok but do remember there are lots of ways you can get help when using the Library, and you should not be afraid to ask for help if you get stuck.
