Jessie Hood

Jessie Hood graduated in 1955 with a Diploma in Social Study. The following year, at the age of 23, she was appointed Colonial Liaison Officer in Bristol.

One of her initiatives was to have local woman teach Jamaican women to knit – bringing them together while creating much needed warmer clothes!

“Miss Hood has no time for racial segregation and feels that we can learn a lot from foreigners who come to live in this country”
