George Wright Adams (1926-1983), from Buckhaven, gained a Certificate in Social Study in 1953.
As well as placements at the National Assistance Board and Mental Welfare Association Edinburgh, he also went to AB Atvidabergs Industrier in Stockholm and assisted with production of their Halda typewriter.
In 1954 he successfully applied for the post of Duly Authorised Officer and Mental Health Social Worker in the Salford Mental Health Service.
