New books at New College Library – November

Anthrology of Buddhism and HinduismUnusual RelationshipNew College Library has a regular display of new books at the far end of the Library Hall, close to the door to the stacks.

New this month is The anthropology of Buddhism and Hinduism : Weberian themes by David Gellner, on the shelf in Reserve at  BQ384 Gel.
Also new is An unusual relationship : Evangelical Christians and Jews, by Yaʻaḳov Ariʼel at  BR1641.J83 Ari.

These titles were purchased for Religious Studies at the School of Divinity, Edinburgh University.

New Buddhism e-book collection now available

Buddhist and Christian : an exploration of dual belonging Last spring, we were successful in bidding for a range of new online resources for Divinity. I’m pleased to announce that one of these, 47 titles from the Routledge Critical Studies in Buddhism series, is now available. University of Edinburgh users can find and access the titles via the online library catalogue, such as Buddhist and Christian?  : an exploration of dual belonging by Rose Drew.

The lovelorn ghostThe Good MuslimNew College Library has a regular display of new books at the far end of the Library Hall, close to the door to the stacks.

Currently in the display is The good Muslim : reflections on classical Islamic law and theology by Mona Siddiqui. Professor Mona Siddiqui, Professor of Islamic and Interreligious Studies at the School of Divinity, will deliver her Inaugural Lecture ‘Love and Law in Christianity and Islam‘ today,  Monday 4 March 2013 at St Cecilia’s Hall.

Also new is The lovelorn ghost and the magical monk : practicing Buddhism in modern Thailand  by Daniel McJustin.  These titles were purchased for Religious Studies at the School of Divinity, Edinburgh University.
