Exporting your results from DiscoverEd

You can export results from DiscoverEd to reference management software, including EndNote Web and EndNote.

In DiscoverEd you can export single search results (references) at a time or you can export multiple search results (references) at one time.

Retrieve saved references in the Library Catalogue now!

Have you been saving your search results in the Library Catalogue? If so you will need to export the references you wish to keep before the Catalogue goes into read-only mode on 24th June 2015.

Both the Library Catalogue and Searcher are being replaced by DiscoverEd soon. In preparation for this the Library Catalogue must go into a read-only mode on 24th June 2015. If you have been saving search results into your My List in the Catalogue you must export any you wish to keep before the Catalogue becomes read-only.

Preparing for DiscoverEd

DiscoverEd goes live this summer replacing both the Library Catalogue and Searcher. There are some things you may have to do or prepare for before DiscoverEd goes live or just after.

Have you been saving your search results in the Library Catalogue? If so you will need to look at exporting the references you wish to keep before the University loses access to the Library Catalogue.

In the Library Catalogue you can save results into your “My List” so you can go back to them at a later date if required.

As the Library Catalogue is being replaced by DiscoverEd you will need to start making plans for exporting those references that you need from the Catalogue to ensure you don’t lose them. The Library Catalogue will become read-only as of 5pm (BST), Wednesday 24th June 2015, so you must export any references you want to keep before this time. Continue reading

Save the stuff you saved in Searcher

Have you been saving your search results in Searcher? If so you will need to look at exporting the references you wish to keep before the University loses access to the Searcher service this summer.

In Searcher you can create a personal account and then add individual or groups of search results to a folder. This is a way of saving your references within Searcher so you can go back to them at a later date if required. The functionality also allows you to create sub-folders so you can organise your references better.
