Trial – RIPM

logoEhostWe have trial access to RIPM (Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals) on the EbscoHost platform until the 11th November.

RIPM offers a unique, searchable collection of complete full-text music journals not found in any library or any other online resource, spanning a period of some two hundred years, from C.P.E. Bach to Berg and Bartok, and from Schubert to Schoenberg and Stravinsky.

Emerald Insight Platform Downtime

emerald_logo_newThere will be a period of downtime on the Emerald Insight platform.  This affects e-books and e-journals.

The maintenance is scheduled to take place on Saturday 25 October 2014, between 12am and 3am.  During this maintenance window, Emerald Insight will be unavailable for up to 1 hour.  If you access the website during this time you will receive a ‘connection timeout’, or similar message, within your browser.

 

Taylor & Francis E-books Platform Downtime

E-books_LOGODue to essential maintenance users will not be able to access Taylor & Francis e-books for a maximum of 1 hour between 23:00 – 02:00 hours BST on Friday 24th October.

Due to the fact that this maintenance is on the firewalls, which is the outermost layer of the system, users visiting the site during this time will receive a “connection timeout” or similar message within their browser.

The publisher has now cancelled this maintenance period.

Web of Science – New KCI Korean Journal Database

kci-lrghdrFollowing last week’s upgrade to Web of Science, we now have access to the New KCI Korean Journal Database. The KCI Korean Journal Database is a searchable repository of literature from Korea and is available for selection listed on the drop down ‘Search’ list.

The KCI Korean Journal Database provides a comprehensive snapshot of the most influential regional content from researchers in South Korea. Using citation connections from the Web of Science™, regional work is framed within the broader context of global research.

Trial – LLMC Digital

logoWe have trial access to LLMC Digital until the 30th November.  Access this e-resource on campus or off campus via the VPN.

LLMC-Digital is an archive of historical legal and government documents, managed by a not-for-profit consortium of libraries in the US, but including a great deal of UK, European and global content. It currently includes over 85,000 volumes.

Web of Science Upgrade Sunday 19th October

Upgrade/Maintenance will be managed between Sunday 19 Oct 14.00 GMT – Monday 19 Oct 02.00 GMT.  There is no disruption to access expected however there may be intermittent issues during the maintenance period. Thomson Reuters apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

There are no upgrades to EndNote (Online) or Researcher ID at this time and access to these resources is not affected, links of these products to Web of Science records may be subject to a slight disruption.

Trial – Oxford Scholarly Editions – Early Seventeenth-Century Prose

We have trial access to Oxford Scholarly Editions – Early Seventeenth-Century Prose until the 6th November.  Access on campus or off campus via the VPN.

Oxford Scholarly Editions provides access to important writings from across the humanities, in editions which are the foundation of humanities scholarship—the primary sources upon which scholars rely for research and teaching. This trial access to the Early Seventeenth-Century Prose module includes the Minutes and Papers of the Westminster Assembly, the Royal Proclamations of King James I 1603–1625, the diaries of Samuel Pepys and John Evelynand the prose works of Thomas Hobbes, John Donne and Francis Bacon.
